Negative taken for April 23, 1958, Arkansas Gazette article "Lake Wilhelmina to Be Big Fishing Lure," B1:2. Lake Wilhelmina, a joint project of the state Game and Fish Commission and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, lies near Mena, Polk County, Arkansas. The lake and the dam that created it were dedicated on April 21, 1958. The lake is to be used for fishing, and has been stocked with bass, bream, and crappie. More recreational facilities will be constructed and will be free to the public. Ed W. Watkins (second from left) of Mena, vice chairman of the Game and Fish Commission, receives a plaque for his work in the development of Lake Wilhelmina from (l to r) Nelson Cox, director of the Game and Fish Commission, Edward N. Johnson, President of the Mena Chamber of Commerce, and the Rev. W.D. Golden.
